About The Position

As an Avetta Agile Project Manager, you help orchestrate the end-to-end delivery of strategic initiatives, maintaining cross-functional alignment and enabling teams to deliver high-quality outcomes iteratively and predictably. You own the day-to-day coordination, tracking, and communication for one or more initiatives, while partnering closely with Senior Project/Program Managers, Release Managers, Scrum Masters, and Product Managers for higher-risk decisions and escalations. This role is ideal for a mid-level Agile delivery professional (not entry-level and not a senior program manager) who is confident running Agile projects, comfortable working directly with cross-functional software teams, and eager to deepen their impact in a SaaS environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience in project management, Agile delivery, or program coordination roles.
  • 3–5 years of experience in project management, Agile team leadership/support, PMO, or similar delivery-focused roles, preferably in a SaaS or software product environment.
  • Hands-on experience working with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, QA, Design, Business Stakeholders) to deliver software or platform capabilities.
  • Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, and at least one portfolio/product management tool such as Aha!, Jira Align, or a similar platform for tracking work, updating boards, managing roadmaps, and generating simple reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in Agile or project management such as CSM, PSM I/II, SAFe (e.g., SA, SSM, SASM), or CAPM/PMP are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or co-lead Agile program and project delivery across one or more initiatives by helping define objectives, scope, and success measures, while partnering with senior leaders on larger strategic efforts.
  • Facilitate or help organize key Agile activities (e.g., Big Room Planning / PI Planning, release planning sessions, portfolio/program backlog refinement, Scrum of Scrums, program syncs, cross-team retrospectives) to drive alignment and surface dependencies.
  • Maintain initiative and program roadmaps, keeping milestones, key dates, and dependencies up to date and aligned with business priorities and stakeholder expectations.
  • Monitor delivery flow, capacity, and workload across teams, flagging over-commitment risks and schedule impacts and proposing options or trade-offs for decision-makers.
  • Act as a primary coordination point between Product Management, business stakeholders, Engineering, and DevOps, ensuring that decisions, risks, and next steps are clearly documented and communicated, with timely escalation for high-impact issues.
  • Prepare and share concise status updates (e.g., progress against plan, upcoming deliverables, top risks and impediments) for team-level and program-level forums, using a consistent reporting cadence.
  • Partner with Product Management and senior project leaders to refine and organize initiatives, features, and OKRs into clear, actionable work that aligns with strategic outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-team planning so teams can identify and manage dependencies, align capacity with demand, and sequence work across multiple teams or streams (including preparation of inputs, calendars, and dependency lists).
  • Own and maintain RAID and decision logs, documenting risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, owners, and mitigation plans, and ensuring timely follow-through when timelines, scope, or quality are at risk.
  • Promote the use of Agile, Lean, and scaled Agile practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or similar) within teams by facilitating ceremonies, reinforcing working agreements, and modeling transparency and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with technical leads, DevOps, and Release function to understand how CI/CD and engineering practices impact schedules and scope; you do not own pipelines or environment decisions but ensure they are reflected accurately in plans, risks, and communications.
  • Leverage Agile lifecycle tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!, Jira Align or similar) to manage roadmaps, backlogs, delivery plans, and reporting at team and program levels, ensuring data is current and reliable.
  • Help drive visibility of key release dates, milestones, and dependencies, coordinating with teams to keep stakeholder-facing views current and accurate.
  • Clarify Agile roles and responsibilities for teams and stakeholders by reinforcing agreed processes, ownership boundaries, and ways of working, aligning with established practices and guidelines.
  • Facilitate or support retrospectives and continuous improvement workshops, turning insights into clear actions, owners, and timelines, and tracking progress on improvement items over time.
  • Champion a culture of transparency and learning by ensuring decisions, assumptions, and lessons learned are documented and easily discoverable, and by highlighting improvement opportunities to senior Agile leaders.
  • Define and maintain key delivery and flow metrics (e.g., feature burnup/burndown, lead time, cycle time, throughput, simple CFD views, escaped defects) in partnership with senior Project/Program or Agile
  • Build and maintain metric dashboards and reports from Jira and related tools to support data-informed discussions about predictability, quality, and flow, and to inform planning and improvement efforts.
  • Collaborate with people managers and senior Project/Program Managers to provide input on capacity, workload, and skill needs based on what you observe in planning sessions, stand-ups, and execution.
  • Foster high-performing, cross-functional collaboration across Product, Engineering, Design, QA, and other partners by clarifying ownership, coordinating meetings, and following through on agreed actions.
