As a Product Owner Intern, you’ll join the TOPS Product Management team at Premera, which is vital to helping make healthcare work better by planning, developing, launching, and managing products and services our members, providers, and fellow employees use. This summer, you will be part of a team with the objective of developing and deploying Copilot Studio agents to Premera. You will capture learning to galvanize development governance of low-code AI agents and drive operational efficiencies. We strive to ensure our products and services meet the needs of business partners, contribute to our corporate strategies, and delight our members. Program Details and Requirements: Premera’s Summer Internship Program is June 15th – August 21st, 2026. To be eligible for the program, you must currently be enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate degree program or have recently obtained your degree (within the last 12 months). This is a hybrid internship program located on our campus in Mountlake Terrace, WA. An internship within the Product Management group will enable you to: Be a product advocate and act as the voice of our users within a delivery team. Help ensure Premera customers have great healthcare when they need it! Joining us means you will get to help define and drive what the future of healthcare will look like. Be instrumental in ensuring that Premera customers get quality insurance at an affordable price. Work within an Agile delivery team. Participate in Agile ceremonies. Learn how Agile works in the real world. Pair with a Product Owner mentor who will partner closely with you throughout your internship. As an intern you can expect to support and execute a wide variety of tasks which may include:

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a two or four-year undergraduate program; a graduate program; or are a recent graduate (less than 12 months) of either an undergraduate or graduate program. (Required)
  • Curiosity when it comes to understanding situations, problem solving, and solutioning.
  • Perseverance when it comes to developing solutions.
  • Ability to both understand organizational strategy and perform detail-oriented work.
  • Self-starter and ability to do independent work as well as collaborate well with others in a virtual environment.
  • Ability to build productive relationships across a wide variety of co-workers, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business partners, IT partners, and delivery teams to identify and refine outcomes and business value in the form of epics, features, and user stories.
  • Organize features and user stories in accordance with requirements, including advising on requested materials and services.
  • Understand your customers, build journey maps, use cases, and use personas when writing features.
  • Evaluate proposed technology solutions for adherence to documented company standards, policies, and regulatory responsibilities.
  • Coordinate release schedules through early communication with lines of business and development teams.
  • Support roadmap management with operational and leadership team members.
  • Identify ways to improve processes and accelerate value for our customers.
