About The Position

The Agile Product Manager/Scrum Master at Cummins Inc. is responsible for managing the program backlog, identifying customer needs, and prioritizing features to support business agility. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to ensure the voice of the customer is integrated into product development, maximizing the value of multiple products. The position requires effective backlog management, participation in program increment planning, and building strong relationships to deliver business value.

Requirements

  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
  • Significant business and technical knowledge with practical experience in Lean methodology.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Significant experience as a Product Owner is preferred.
  • SAFe® Product Owner/Agile Product Manager (POPM) or SAFe® Agile Product and Solution Management certifications are preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing Service cloud, Sales cloud, CPQ, Communities, and platform projects.
  • Experience managing Field Service projects.
  • Familiarity with PM frameworks, Agile, and Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with tools like Jira for backlog management and estimation.
  • Experience in conducting workshops and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify customer needs and product market trends to prioritize features.
  • Guide work through the Program Kanban to support business agility.
  • Develop the program vision and roadmap for an Agile Release Train (ART).
  • Represent the voice of the customer and articulate user personas and their problems.
  • Work with Epic Owners to develop Lean business cases for Epics affecting the ART.
  • Manage the flow of work through the Program Kanban and maintain a ready backlog.
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and approve PI objectives.
  • Define releases and program increments, deciding when to release to customers.
  • Collaborate with System and Solution Architecture/Engineering on technology enablers.
  • Participate in demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and assess metrics.
