The Agile Business Analyst at Watco is responsible for modeling business processes, identifying software opportunities for improved business outcomes, and evaluating alternative solutions. This role involves building effective relationships with business areas to capture user personas' characteristics, goals, and problems, and decompose ideal solutions into logical components. The analyst will engage with the Product Owner and agile development team to deliver key product features based on business priorities, while also writing executable user stories and facilitating agile processes.

  • Understand the business functions of the product and author detailed stories and requirements for agile engineering teams.
  • Document clear, buildable, and testable requirements based on detailed designs.
  • Serve as product owner proxy and interact with agile teams to accept or reject work products from development.
  • Collaborate with product owners to create product backlogs using Agile practices.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to create user journey maps and define successful implementation details.
  • Define and document product requirements, providing user stories to cross-functional teams and ensuring readiness for backlog grooming.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner/agile development team to resolve team questions and outline details into user stories.
  • Document key decisions, action items, and outstanding questions from meetings and distribute minutes to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile processes such as release planning and backlog refinement.
  • Drive a timely system release roadmap with a solution-oriented and collaborative approach.
  • Ability to pinpoint the target audience and build effective relationships using business and system analysis skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to solve complex problems with multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to differentiate between 'what is needed' and 'what is wanted'.
  • Understanding of requirements for creating successful applications.
  • Effective collaboration and communication with technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for story creation and tracking.
  • Proficiency in writing user stories and conducting backlog grooming.
  • Knowledge of business and technical requirements for large projects, including high-level design docs and test plans.
  • Ability to conduct gap analysis of current state to target state business architecture.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills to clarify complexity and communicate needs across teams.
  • Learning agility related to business processes and technical solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and self-management skills.
  • Proficiency with software used in the field of UX.
  • Ability to provide input and feedback on UI/UX deliverables like wireframes and prototypes.
  • Attention to detail for making analytics decisions that improve requirement quality.
  • Familiarity with Software Quality Assurance methods and techniques.
