Requirements

  • PhD candidate in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of deep learning theory, including transformer-based architectures and fine-tuning methods.
  • Familiarity with the instruction fine-tuning lifecycle: data collection, dataset curation, model training, and evaluation.
  • Conceptual knowledge of agentic AI, including task planning, memory, and autonomous reasoning (LangChain, OpenAgents, AutoGPT, CrewAI, etc.).
  • Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, REST APIs, and collaborative tools like GitHub and Markdown.
  • Exposure to multi-modal AI (e.g., language-vision models, audio-text systems) and sensor data integration.
  • Practical experience with robotics frameworks (e.g., ROS, PX4), simulation tools (e.g., Gazebo, Isaac Sim), or embedded systems is a strong plus.
  • Understanding of reinforcement learning (RL), including policy learning and environment-agent interaction, is a bonus.

Nice To Haves

  • Contributions to open-source agentic or generative AI projects.
  • Publications or technical blog posts in AI or robotics domains.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA, Hugging Face, and Azure ML model deployment pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to define and develop AI agents for real-world tasks involving physical systems (e.g., drones, mobile robots) and digital environments.
  • Build system components that integrate with REST APIs and robot middleware (e.g., ROS), supporting real-time interaction between agents and the physical world.
  • Develop tools to support the prompt engineering lifecycle, including prompt libraries, scoring metrics, and agent orchestration frameworks.
  • Design, test, and refine high-performance prompts and instructions for instruction fine-tuning pipelines.
  • Lead or support the full data lifecycle for instruction fine-tuning, including identifying task objectives, collecting and curating datasets, generating synthetic data when needed, and evaluating fine-tuned models for performance and safety.
  • Support multi-modal model development and deployment, focusing on integration with sensor data, vision models, and action plans.
  • Contribute to discussions on AI safety, bias, and ethical considerations in autonomous and generative systems.
  • Maintain technical documentation and provide internal training/support on best practices.

Benefits
