About The Position

The Training Manager is responsible for providing oversight of the extension programs to the emergency services and other clientele within their assigned region within the state of Texas. This position coordinates training schedules and deliveries, approves travel of instructors, markets/sells, and delivers training and technical assistance, and coordinates/work with other TEEX programs and divisions. The Training Manager is responsible for managing the regional budget and supervising the region’s Training Coordinator. This position supports other agencies, such as TDEM and TIFMAS, in times of state emergencies as directed. The Training Manager must reside in the TEEX region in which they are assigned. The position reports to the Extension Program Training Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Five years of experience in a command or leadership role in one of the response disciplines. (Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Management, Public Safety)
  • Equivalency: Will consider an Associate’s degree with seven years in a command or leadership role in one of the response disciplines (Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Management, Public Safety) or a High School Diploma/GED with nine years of experience in a command or leadership role in one of the response disciplines (Fire, EMS, Law Enforcement, Hazardous Materials, Emergency Management, Public Safety).
  • Must also have all required licenses/certifications.
  • Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Certified NFPA 1041 Instructor 1 or equivalent.
  • Completion of ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800 within six months for hire date.
