About The Position

Under the direction of a supervisory official in a state department, agency, or institution, provides front-line and behind the scenes customer and other support services involving the review, processing and issuance of agency documents; provides varied information to customers regarding department/agency programs and services; handles the most complex and/or sensitive customer issues, requests and complaints; functions in a lead worker capacity; does other related work as required. Specific to the Position Manages daily operations at the Andover Forest Fire Field Headquarters, including opening and closing the office as required. May be responsible for dispatching or making emergency notifications when Forest Fire resources are needed, ensuring timely and accurate communication; Relays and provides pertinent information to staff, field personnel, and partner agencies as necessary. Oversees fiscal and procurement processes, including preparing and making deposits, managing purchase orders (POs), ensuring vendor payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. Submits Fire Line payroll and ensures all related documentation is accurate and completed on time. Tracks agricultural permits and maintains related documentation and data. Does other related duties. Due to nature of the role, this position is performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience providing information and support to customers or clients, responding to technical inquiries and/or complaints regarding products, services or programs, or collecting payments in a government or office setting.
  • Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.
  • All persons newly hired on or after September 1, 2011, have one year from the date of employment to establish, and then maintain principal residence in the State of New Jersey subject to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70), also known as the “New Jersey First Act”.
  • Selected candidates must be authorized to work in the United States per the Department of Homeland Security, United States Citizenship, and Immigration Services regulations.
