Introduction This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, Engineering and Construction. GRADE 20 LOCATION OF POSITION 301 Cemetery Avenue, Cambridge, MD Main Purpose of Job The purpose of this position is to supervise, oversee, and manage the operations of the Technical Services within the Engineering and Construction Unit. The Technical Services provides the topographic and hydrographic surveys required for the design and construction of Waterway Improvement, Capital Development, Critical Maintenance, park and marine design projects and other special projects. Topographic projects include surveying for maintenance of park roads and buildings, and new construction in park facilities. This position is also responsible for the monitoring of the dunes in Ocean City and Assateague Island. Hydrographic projects include surveys for channel maintenance, channel stake out (for dredging projects), post-dredge and new construction such as piers and boat ramps. This position supervises four technical professionals. POSITION DUTIES The Department of Natural Resources, Engineering & Construction Unit, Annapolis, Maryland, is currently accepting applications for a Agency Project Architect/Engineer Supervisor under direction of the Associate Director of Technical Services. The purpose of this position is to supervise, oversee, and manage the operations of the Technical Services within the Engineering and Construction Unit. Technical Services provides the topographic and hydrographic surveys required for the design and construction of Waterway Improvement, Capital Development, Critical Maintenance, park and marine design projects and other special projects. Topographic projects include surveying for maintenance of park roads and buildings, and new construction in park facilities. This position is also responsible for the monitoring of the dunes in Ocean City and Assateague Island. Hydrographic projects include surveys for channel maintenance, channel stake out (for dredging projects), post-dredge and new construction such as piers and boat ramps. This position supervises four technical professionals. In addition, this group handles emergency repairs resulting from natural and man-made disasters, as well as other unforeseen emergencies.
