AgCenter Maintenance Foreman
About The Position
To provide supervision, guidance, logistical support and limited administration to a group of heterogeneous journeyman crafts and their helpers. Inspects buildings, grounds and equipment to determine need for various types of repairs or maintenance work. Inspects work in progress and upon completion for compliance with standards. Makes estimates of cost of labor and materials and requisitions supplies and equipment. Makes sketches of proposed changes to be made in renovation of buildings. Makes assignments of subordinates or crews providing a variety of maintenance construction or repair. Supervises journeyman level carpentry, plumbing, electrical, plastering, painting and other maintenance work. Supervises the servicing and repair of a variety of basic lawn mowers, refrigerators, stoves, hot water mechanical equipment. Prepares time, work and maintenance reports. Evaluates performance of employees and performs limited administrative functions, leave approval, time absentees, etc.
Requirements
- Four years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR
- Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant; OR
- Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses plus two years of experience in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.
- Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience
