About The Position

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is looking to employ AGACNPs/PA-Cs to join the Medical Hospitalist Group on the West Coast of Florida. Sarasota is located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa. The area is known for the arts, great restaurants, world-class beaches, excellent schools and a wide variety of activities for all ages. The Medical Hospitalist Group , with over 80+ Physicians and APPs, is known for its strong teamwork and fun working environment.

Requirements

  • Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required and must also have an active license by the State of Florida by the time of hire.
  • Board Certified Physician Assistant, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has active, relevant and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 500 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
  • Board Certified Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner , who has active, relevant, and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 1,000 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
  • Require advanced degree from an accredited school or college of nursing
  • Must have had a Medicare number in the State of Florida prior to 1/1/03; if not, must have a Master's Degree in nursing in addition to being a Registered Professional Nurse who is authorized by Florida to practice in accordance with state law.
  • Require approved APRN board certification. Must be certified as a APRN by a recognized national certifying body having established standards for APRN’s. The following organizations are recognized national certifying bodies for the Nurse Practitioner: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; American Nurses Credentialing Center; National Certification Corporation for Obstetric, Gynecologic and Neonatal Nursing Specialties; National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners & Nurses; Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation; Critical Care Certification Corporation; National Commission on Certification; and American Association of Heart Failure Nurses.

Responsibilities

  • Assigned patients for rounding under physician supervision.
  • Will assist with admissions and consults when needed.
