Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking to employ an AGACNP/PA-C with specialization in Gastroenterology to join their growing employed physician group on the West Coast of Florida. Our Gastroenterology practice was developed in 2020 and has quickly expanded to eight (8) Board-Certified Gastroenterologists, four (4) Advanced Gastroenterologists, and 13 Advanced Practice Providers caring for the communities of SMH-Sarasota and SMH-Venice hospital.   • Perform physical examinations of patients.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with GI related conditions in the hospital and out-patient setting.
  • Work four (4) 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, including one weekend a month.
  • No call requirements.
  • Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required and must also have an active license by the State of Florida by the time of hire.
  • Board Certified Physician Assistant, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has active, relevant and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 500 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
  • Board Certified Adult/Family Nurse Practitioner, who has active, relevant, and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 1,000 acute care inpatient encounters over two years).
  • BLS required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of state, federal and local health care agencies and programs.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with physicians and other allied health personnel in the hospital and/or office setting.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacology as it relates to health care practice and current prescription writing skills/DEA licensing.
  • Demonstrated skills in documentation in medical records to substantiate accurate billing.
  • Demonstrated written & verbal communication & strong analytical skills.
  • Effective interaction skills to ensure the successful care of patients in the clinical setting.
  • Effective leadership and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant state and federal laws, statutes and regulations.
