About The Position

PURPOSE: The Team Leader must provide leadership and the achievement of manufacturing goals in the areas of safety, quality, production and efficiency. Must be able to set up and provide supervision to all extrusion and auxiliary equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Able to use hand tools to perform mechanical repairs.
  • Experience as a Machine Operator of mechanical equipment in the production of blown film.
  • Math Skills- the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and calculate ratios.
  • Must be a leader and capable of supervising others.
  • Basic PC knowledge.
  • Essential Physical Requirements: Sitting to prepare reports and use computer equipment for approximately 10% of workday.
  • Walking to inspect facility including raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods and overall manufacturing and warehouse operations for as much as 100% of the workday.
  • The employee in this position is required to exert up to 60 pounds of force occasionally (less than 1/3 of the time); and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently (1/3 to 2/3 of the time); and/or up to 40 pounds of force regularly (more than 2/3 of the total time)

Responsibilities

  • Knows the Company’s quality vision policy and helps to achieve it.
  • Supervise multiple operators running multiple lines while ensuring high standard of output and quality.
  • Administers regular reviews with employees as to company policy and recommend disciplinary procedures.
  • Conducts monthly safety meetings.
  • Monitors employee safety, work habits, and PPE use and follow lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Handles emergency situations. Fire, inclement weather, accidents)
  • People planning to ensure adequate coverage for scheduled production.
  • Maintains quality standards according to specifications and tolerances.
  • Maintains correct and proper paperwork.
  • Maintains the production requirement including scrap rates, production rates, line speeds, blends, and weight tolerances.
  • Maximize equipment efficiencies to achieve defined plant objectives of MEEF/EFF
  • Daily input of WebEFF data and monitors “yield report”.
  • Knows basic functions of JDE.
  • Use knowledge of resins, additives, concentrates, etc. to adjust to changing manufacturing conditions and maximize efficiencies.
  • Work to meet or exceed Department and Plant Goals.
  • Maintains housekeeping in designated areas.
  • Train replacement.
  • Assist maintenance with repairs and equipment reliability.
  • Performs routine equipment repairs.
  • Communicate with maintenance department about the necessary repairs, machine improvements, and preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Writes maintenance work requests.
  • Is a team player and exhibits the Gung Ho attitude.
  • All other duties as assigned or apparent; including performing job duties from current position to entry level positions
