About The Position

The Sales position is responsible for selling new and used agricultural and turf equipment to both new and existing customers. This role requires relevant experience in sales or an agriculture-related field and is not considered an entry-level position. The individual will represent the company in the sale of machinery, maintain awareness of inventory, and utilize company systems to follow a defined sales process. Additionally, the position involves collaboration with Parts and Service Departments to provide customer solutions and develop long-term relationships.

Requirements

  • 1+ years equipment sales experience or agriculture related field required
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and in good standing
  • Must maintain a good driving record in compliance with company Motor Vehicle Records criteria throughout employment
  • Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices preferred
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to work flexible hours and independently
  • Must have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
  • A drive to meet and talk to new people
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience

  • Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices preferred

Responsibilities

  • Represents the company for the sale of machinery (agricultural, lawn and garden) to customers
  • Keeps track of equipment inventory and maintains awareness of products available for sale
  • Uses company provided systems and tools to follow a defined sales process
  • Works closely with Parts and Service Departments to provide customer solutions and develop long-term relationships
  • Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment potentially saleable by the dealership
  • Develops awareness for competitive activity and products as well as business and industry trends
  • Develops lasting relationships with customers to better understand their business activities
  • Achieves and maintains a strong knowledge of used equipment markets and values to properly evaluate trades
  • Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods
  • Effectively communicates with management regarding competitive activities and customer business activities
  • Attends and participates in applicable sales training events, seminars, and classes
  • Delivers sold equipment to customers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
