We are looking for a Ag Field Trial & Technology Development Manager-Canola to join our Agricultural Solutions team where you will be based in Western Kansas. Come create chemistry with us! As a Technology Development Manager for Canola, you will report to the Canola Agronomy Lead and be responsible for developing and executing trial protocols for yellow-seeded canola, both internally and with third parties. Your role will involve establishing field trials and digital farming site production for evaluation and statistical analysis, aimed at enhancing agronomic knowledge for both the company and its customers. Additionally, you will identify seed quality improvements that maximize customer returns and build relationships within the industry to promote yellow-seeded canola, acting as a technical conduit for the first mover customer network.

  • Conducting internal or organizing 3rd party field research experiments as assigned, including seeding, spraying, and harvesting trials.
  • Taking in-depth phenotypic notes.
  • Doing this in accordance with high safety and compliance standards for personnel and seed compliance and regulations.
  • Supporting successful and productive relationships with growers and industry.
  • Performing and coordinating seed logistic activity protocol development, literature review, and trial maintenance.
  • Finalizing and preparing data and records accurately with the timelines that are outlined or required.
  • Overseeing data analysis as well as summarizing and presenting findings internally and to customers, depending on the specifics of the trial.
  • Representing Agronomic Services in cross-functional teams and presenting yellow seeded canola value propositions to internal colleagues for training and market development.
  • Supervising, guiding, and coaching Summer associates/interns.
  • Possess a BS degree in Agriculture related field. Having a M.S. or PhD is preferred.
  • Have training related to technical aspects of agriculture, specifically as it applies to research.
  • Must have 6-8 years of experience.
  • Operate farm equipment, it is critical and required, with a commercial driver's license preferred.
  • Have experience in field data research collection.
  • Demonstrate agronomic expertise, technical skills, and understanding of research and the seed industry.
  • Exhibit advanced computer and data analysis skills.
  • Ensure personnel safety.
  • Comply with all seed compliance and regulatory requirements.
