About The Position
Franke Farms, LLC is seeking Agricultural Equipment Operators for the seasonal harvest of Christmas trees in Marion, New York. This position is full-time and temporary, with 15 openings available from November 1, 2024, to November 30, 2024. The primary responsibilities include using chainsaws and mechanized balers to harvest Christmas trees, stacking the harvested trees onto wagons and trucks, and moving them to the designated loading area. The employer will provide all necessary tools and equipment required for the job at no cost to the workers. It is essential for workers to report for work dressed in suitable clothing, as field temperatures can drop below 30 degrees Fahrenheit, and work may be conducted in various weather conditions including rain, snow, mud, wind, and sun. Workers must be prepared for the physical demands of the job, which include extensive pushing, pulling, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent stooping, bending, and repetitive movements. Additionally, workers must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds.
