About The Position

The Ag Equipment Operator position involves operating large farm machinery equipped with GPS for various agricultural tasks such as cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, and harvesting crops like squash, watermelon, corn, and soybeans. The role requires performing maintenance on equipment and the worksite, as well as managing field drainage and weed control. This seasonal position is based in Cass and Van Buren County, MI, and offers a work schedule of approximately 50 hours per week, primarily Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Must have three months of recent and verifiable experience in agricultural equipment operation.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license or be able to obtain one after hire.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Operate large farm equipment and machinery equipped with GPS.
  • Cultivate, till, fertilize, plant, and harvest crops including squash, watermelon, corn, milo, soybeans, and hay.
  • Perform grain bin and auger operations.
  • Conduct field maintenance and weed control by walking fields and pulling weeds.
  • Drive farm vehicles as needed.
  • Perform minor daily upkeep on equipment and worksite.
  • Conduct earthwork for field drainage and maintenance of field edges.
  • Engage in brush hogging activities.
