About The Position

As an Ag Banker, you are responsible for developing, managing, and growing profitable relationships with agribusiness customers. This role involves originating and structuring credit with moderate supervision, while proactively identifying, managing, and monitoring risk before and after credit extension. As a relationship manager, you will partner with teams across the Bank to deliver thoughtful, profitable solutions that meet each customers unique needs. Requirements

  • Secondary education in related field preferred.
  • One or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
  • Experience with agriculture preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to conduct relationships in a manner that ensures cooperation and positive results.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of concern for professional and innovative customer service.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Possess working knowledge of commercial banking and economics.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and teammates.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Management Provide top service & relationship management.
  • Assist with department to maintain relationships and grow portfolio organically.
  • Maintain relationships with customers by offering excellent service.
  • Collaborate with Ag Department to enhance products and services to add customer value.
  • Maintain loan and deposit portfolio size that commensurate with your level. This level is evaluated annually by department leadership team.
  • Credit Administration Display true ownership of portfolio quality measured by proper compliance with Banks Loan Policy & Guidelines.
  • Maintain portfolio tickler exceptions are maintained at 15% with minimal and appropriate extension requests.
  • Credit file deviations must be kept to a minimum.
  • Administer and monitor construction projects appropriately to ensure project risk is sufficiently mitigated.
  • Provide thorough review of Customer Financial Statements to ensure proper Risk Ratings are maintained.
  • Ensure findings by Credit Review are resolved or addressed without oversight from Management.
  • Monitor Loan Covenants appropriately.
  • Maintain acceptable level of documentation exceptions and deviations from loan policy.
  • Support experienced Ag Bankers with file maintenance and document collection for more complex relationships.
  • Assist with annual collateral inspections to ensure adequate collateral coverage for the borrowing relationship.
  • Maintain proper documentation to adhere to loan policy/guidelines and approval requirements.
  • Business Development Initiate network opportunities to assure customers receive quality service and to enhance relationships with external referral sources to facilitate business development opportunities.
  • Provide superior service to existing clients that leads to client retention, additions, and referrals.
  • Follow up on leads and opportunities to retain existing customers and attract new relationships.
  • Assist in executing a plan that was developed in coordination with experienced Ag Bankers.
  • Develop new business by building relationships with industry groups and influencers.
  • Learn and educate oneself in the area of crop insurance.
  • Work with First Crop Solutions to assist in growing the insurance portfolio.
  • Community Involvement Actively promote bank in community and identify opportunities for community involvement and partnerships.
  • Actively participate in community and industry organizations to help source business development opportunities and demonstrate our commitment to Agriculture.
  • Assist or support Ag education programs and/or events.
