About The Position

In the part time position the Recreation Program assistant under moderate supervision assists in the organization implementation and supervision of our recreation programs activities and special events for the community.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to come to work on time on a daily basis.
• Must have the physical ability to lead and participate in camp activities which include; but are not limited to running; swimming; team building initiatives; physical games; and activities.
• Must have the ability to physically manage and support children when needed for safety in general camp activities (child weighing 20 - 100 pounds).
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks outdoors in different climate.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Dynamic and Outgoing Personality

Nice To Haves

• Education classes or experience in camp; youth programs; recreation; working with children; or in a related field is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensures safety of all participants and direct supervision of children in all planned activities.
• Assists the Director; Manager and Staff with the program theme.
• Ensures children are aware of rules; and daily scheduled routines.
• Assists with equipment and materials for the assigned program/event.
• Ensures proper procedures are followed on a daily basis.
