About The Position

The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Job SummaryThe Aftercare Worker is responsible for supervising and engaging students in a safe, supportive, and structured environment after regular school hours. This role includes facilitating activities, assisting with homework, managing behavior, and ensuring the overall well-being of all children in the program.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children (school, camp, daycare, or youth programs).
  • Ability to manage groups and engage students effectively.
  • Strong communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Monitor students at all times to ensure safety and proper conduct.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and sign-in/sign-out procedures.
  • Enforce program rules and school policies consistently and positively.
  • Plan and lead age-appropriate activities such as games, crafts, and enrichment projects.
  • Assist students with homework or quiet study time as needed.
  • Prepare and distribute snacks according to health and safety guidelines.
