About The Position

The After School Tutor at the Community Learning Center (CLC) plays a vital role in supporting elementary-aged students in their academic growth and development. This position focuses on creating engaging learning activities, tracking student progress, and collaborating with parents and school personnel to enhance student performance. The tutor is expected to maintain a positive community image and contribute to the overall mission of the CLC to provide equitable educational opportunities.

Requirements

• Experience working with elementary-aged students preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to student learning, growth, and advancement.
• Demonstrate academic competence in the subject area(s).
• Develop learning activities, strategies, and curriculum for tutoring sessions.
• Track student attendance and activities for tutoring sessions.
• Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
• Facilitate problem-solving with a curious mind and critical thinking skills.
• Collaborate effectively with parents, school site personnel, and after-school and summer personnel to increase student performance.
• Complete training requirements for Direct Care as determined by the State of South Dakota; assist in covering at sites in emergency situations.
• Maintain a positive community image of the Sioux Falls School District.
• Perform other duties as assigned by direct or indirect supervisors.
