About The Position

The After School Teacher at Kids R Kids Beaumont West is responsible for providing a nurturing and safe environment for school-age children. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• CPR Certification
• Ability to lift and carry children and items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to hear conversational voice and see/read newsprint with or without corrective lenses
• Demonstrated qualities of self-motivation, patience, creativity, reliability, and dependability
• Ability to handle crisis situations and respond to emergencies
• Willingness to participate in continuing education as required by regulatory agency

Nice To Haves

• Experience in childcare or education
• First Aid Training

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time in appropriate attire
• Stay current on state child care regulations and Kids 'R' Kids policies
• Comply with universal precautions and infection control guidelines
• Direct questions about center policies to the appropriate personnel
• Know emergency procedures for fire and weather-related incidents
• Care for injured or ill children
• Be aware of children with allergies
• Maintain child/staff ratio
• Greet each child and parent upon arrival
• Establish good communication with parents
• Begin a Daily Report for each child
• Check belongings of each child for proper labeling
• Take daily attendance and keep attendance sheet during outdoor activities
• Direct parents to the front desk for medication administration
• Follow Kids 'R' Kids Discipline Policy
• Report unusual behavior to management
• Document any abuse or neglect observed
• Implement Kids 'R' Kids Curriculum according to daily schedule
• Request necessary supplies in advance
• Keep classroom decorations and children's work displayed
• Follow daily schedule for meals, snacks, and outdoor play
• Ensure playground safety and supervise children during activities
• Interact with children at their eye level
• Observe children during activities for safety and engagement
• Maintain a tidy teacher workstation
• Sanitize and disinfect classroom and equipment as per guidelines
• Inform management of needed repairs
• Keep sleeping arrangements safe and hygienic
• Prepare for parent/teacher conferences as scheduled
• Send reports to the front desk before parents arrive
• Engage children in activities while awaiting pickup
• Discuss children's progress with parents during pickup
• Release children only to authorized persons
