About The Position

At Eager Enrichment , we have been inspiring young minds since 2008 through high-quality, hands-on after-school programs. Our Eager Engineers curriculum brings STEM concepts to life for thousands of elementary students through engaging building projects using LEGO®, K'NEX®, and other creative materials. As our programs continue to expand, we are seeking dedicated instructors to lead after-school STEM classes. In this role, you will guide groups of up to 20 elementary students through an hour of structured, interactive learning that fosters creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. If you're passionate about both Legos, STEM, and working with children, this could be the perfect opportunity for you! Pay is $40 per class.

Requirements

Availability: Must be available M-TH or T-TH afternoons during the school year, starting in January. Classes are one hour each day with no weekend or holiday work (e.g., Spring Break, Thanksgiving).
Schedule & Commitment: Arrival at the school is required on at 2:30pm . Positions include up to four one-hour classes per week. If you're seeking more than 4 hours per week, this role may not be a fit.
Experience: Prior experience working with children (Grades 1-5) is preferred, but a strong desire to work with elementary-age students is essential.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift 40 pounds for a short period of time (need be able to move our blocs container to the dolly we provide to from your car)
Tech Savvy: Comfortable using mobile apps for communication and scheduling.
Transportation: Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from school sites.
Age Requirement: Candidates must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Teaching: Lead engaging STEM classes for elementary students (Grades 1-5) in various local elementary schools. You'll use Eager Enrichment's "no-fail" teaching approach, helping students understand that making mistakes is part of the learning process.
Classroom Management: Create a positive and well-organized learning environment for up to 20 students. Promote respectful behavior and guide students through structured, supportive lessons.
Communication: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills. Accurately track attendance and feel confident using apps for scheduling and parent/staff communication.
