About The Position

The Community Services Department is comprised of three divisions: Community Services Administration, Youth and Adult Services, and the Child Development Center. We, as a department, take pride in the quality and variety of services we provide to the community and seek individuals who can contribute to this well-deserved reputation. The After School Program Leader will be a member of a dynamic team in the Youth and Adult Services Division charged with delivering creative, innovative, and enriching after school programs for youth in the Emeryville community.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Experience in a structured or supervised recreational program and/or college level training in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or a related field is desirable

Responsibilities

• Organize and lead recreational activities including arts and crafts, sports, and games
• Supervise field trips, which may include bus travel to local attractions
• Take attendance and assist with record-keeping
• Issue, maintain and store equipment and supplies
• Interact with children, parents, care-givers, volunteers and City staff
• Ensure the safety and well-being of program participants
