About The Position

The After School Program Instructor position is designed for individuals who enjoy working with children and want to provide fun and safe activities during after school hours. This role is part-time, with flexible working hours based on availability, and involves engaging with the community and building a positive environment for youth.

Requirements

• Must pass YMCA background check
• Availability Mon-Thursday between 2:00-5:00pm
• Possess (or obtain within 90 days) a current CPR/AED & First Aid Certification
• Experience working with children in a classroom setting
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation
• Ability to adequately observe participant activities, enforce safety regulations and apply appropriate management techniques
• Must have reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for learning
• Implement curriculum for a variety of enrichment classes
• Establish good rapport with parents and participants
• Be a positive role model for youth in the program
• Collaborate with volunteers to lead delegation
• Transport equipment to and from school sites
