After-school Nanny in Pomona, CA, for a 9-year-old and a 14-year-old
About The Position
A bit about us: We’re an open, vibrant, personable family with 2 mini poodles, Magic and Cookie. Our family is about “togetherness”. We have fun doing activities as a family and going to church on the weekends. We believe in honesty, integrity, and treating other people kindly. Our 9-year-old daughter (4th grade) is creative and loving. Her passions are music and fashion. She also enjoys doing hair, crafting, and playing with slime. She and her brother are both into Roblox. Our 14-year-old son (8th grade) is outgoing and inquisitive half the time, and quiet the other half of the time. He’s a kind person. He’s into video games, basketball, and performance choir. A bit about you: You are kind, playful, dependable, and can be firm when needed. You are a confident, safe driver. Our children’s school is 30 mi from our home so safety is paramount. You have open communication and are not afraid to ask questions. You enjoy creativity and sharing in children’s interests.
Requirements
- 2 years minimum childcare experience, including 1 previous nanny position
- Clean driving record
- Reliable vehicle
- Comfortable driving children
- Willing to take driving and drug screens
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to get)
- Willing to learn how to use an Epi-pen
- Basic cooking ability
- Able to assist with elementary homework
- Able to follow instructions for allergen-friendly kids’ meals
Nice To Haves
- You have intermediate/advanced cooking skills
- A college degree
- Would enjoy taking the poodles on occasional walks (not required)!
Responsibilities
- Pick kids up from their school (in Loma Linda, 92354) and bring them home
- Ensure safety (no texting while driving)
- Sometimes provide transportation to extracurricular activities/appointments
- Homework help
- Kids’ meal prep for dinner
- Light tidying after meal prep
- Light dishes
- Communicate with parents when needed
