About The Position

At Mathnasium of Wauconda, we’re passionate about both our students and our employees! We set ourselves apart by providing After School Math Instructors with a rewarding opportunity to transform the lives of Kindergarten-12th grade students. The position offers consistent, but flexible part-time hours Monday-Thursday from 3:30-7:30pm and Sunday from 1-4pm. We provide an engaging and supportive work environment, opportunities for advancement after the first 30 days, paid training, and all necessary curriculum and instructional tools.

Requirements

• Passion for math and helping others
• Ability to work on a team
• Eagerness to learn
• Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
• Ability to balance various ongoing tasks
• Available a minimum of 8 hours per week
• 16 years or older (15 years old allowed with work permit)
• Availability year round (not a summer only position)
• All applicants will be required to take a math literacy test to demonstrate math proficiency, provide work authorization, and pass a background check

Responsibilities

• Teach/tutor in-center using the Mathnasium Method™, terminology, and teaching practices as learned during training
• Work collaboratively with team members to deliver individualized instruction in a group setting
• Assess students’ understanding and engagement throughout instructional sessions
• Become proficient with various daily processes
