About The Position

Introduction: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled After-school and Summer Camp worker to join our team and provide high-quality care and lots of fun to school-aged children. The School-aged worker will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans, supervising and interacting with children, and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment. The successful candidate will have strong communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with other team members.

Requirements

  • Thirty semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university with six semester hours (or nine quarter hours) related to school-age child care, child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping or other related fields; or Both of the following: A) 1560 clock hours of experience in a recreational program or licensed day care center serving school-age children or a license exempt school-age child care program operated by a public or private school; and B) Six semester hours (or nine quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university related to school-age child care, child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, camping or other related fields; or Both of the following: A) A high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED); and B) 3120 clock hours of experience in a recreational program, kindergarten, or licensed day care center serving school-age children or a license exempt school-age child care program operated by a public or private school; or Gateways to Opportunity Credentials (41) A) The Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Credential Level 3 or higher; or B) The School-Age & Youth Development (SAYD) Credential Level 3 or higher.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask and handle a high-volume workload
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members

Nice To Haves

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement lesson plans that are age-appropriate and align with state and national standards
  • Supervise and interact with children, including conducting individual and group activities, reading stories, and facilitating play
  • Maintain a safe and nurturing environment, including enforcing rules and policies and addressing any behavioral issues
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's progress and development
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure continuity of care and services
  • Other duties as assigned
