About The Position

The Africa Business Development Representative at Workstrings International is responsible for generating new business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients in the oil and gas industry. This role requires a deep understanding of industry practices, customer needs, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The representative will develop and execute business strategies, collaborate with internal teams, and ensure the company is well-positioned for tenders and bids.

Requirements

  • Engineering or Business Administration Degree
  • 5 years related experience in a sales role within the oil and gas industry
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to communicate customer expectations effectively to key representatives
  • Operational knowledge related to WSI's products, procedures, and processes
  • Proficient in MS Office software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to logically assemble and present information to clients
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Critical thinking skills

  • Experience in conducting formal business reviews with clients
  • Understanding of financial statements
  • Technical report writing skills

Responsibilities

  • Develop and present strategies to guide Company management in developing the Company's long-term strategic plan.
  • Position the Company for participation in tenders, bids, and RFQs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners in the development and implementation of strategies, plans, and business models.
  • Research and seek out prospective projects through networking and client visits.
  • Provide support to executive management in negotiations, contract development, due diligence, and alliance development projects.
  • Provide input to executive management on new products or service features to meet customer needs.
  • Research emerging technologies and trends.
  • Forecast revenues and customer activity levels.
  • Maintain strong business relationships with existing customers and develop relationships with operators, drilling contractors, and service companies.
  • Gather information on future customer projects, competitor pricing, and regional news affecting business decisions.
  • Ensure the Company is prequalified with prospective customers for future opportunities.
  • Review customer terms and conditions, quotations, tenders, and technical inquiries to minimize risks and present accurate responses to clients.
  • Assist Regional Managers and Business Development Team in collection of outstanding A/R invoices.
  • Provide input for monthly revenue forecasts and annual plans.
  • Assess and evaluate marketing opportunities for presentation to Upper Management.
  • Interface with Operations, Engineering, International Operations, and Finance to assure responsiveness to customer expectations.
