About The Position

Join SNAP — Help Us Keep Affordable Housing Safe & Comfortable for Our Community. We’re looking for a hands-on, problem-solving, and dependable Maintenance Technician to keep our USDA Rural Development affordable housing property in top condition. If you’re skilled in home repair, love working with your hands, and want to make a difference for families in our community, we’d love to have you on our team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in home repair, general construction, or maintenance (installing doors/windows, cabinets, basic plumbing/electrical).
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 85 lbs, work in crawl spaces, attics, rooftops, and other challenging environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-focused, diverse environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of maintenance or weatherization experience.
  • Certifications in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC.
  • Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification.
  • Fair Housing training (or ability to complete within 30 days).
  • Lead-based paint safety certification (training provided).

Responsibilities

  • Performing post-occupancy repairs and improvements in multi-family units.
  • Handling a variety of maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, water heater service, windows, doors, ADA accommodations, gutters, steps, railings, painting, and cabinets.
  • Participating in annual unit inspections and rolling out a preventative maintenance plan across the property.
  • Coordinating and overseeing third-party vendors and contractors.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing building systems and equipment quickly and effectively.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Managing supply inventory and processing purchase orders.
  • Delivering excellent customer service to residents while respecting confidentiality and dignity.
