The Workplace Technology Senior Software Asset Management Engineer at the American Chemical Society (ACS) plays a pivotal role in the implementation and management of IT Software Asset Management (SAM) practices. The engineer will also be responsible for audit readiness, preparing for and managing software license audits, and maintaining meticulous records of software licenses, deployments, and usage. Ensuring compliance with relevant legal and regulatory requirements affecting software usage and management, both domestically and internationally, is a critical responsibility. Additionally, the engineer will collaborate with vendors and legal teams to negotiate favorable software purchase agreements and licenses, while also managing vendor relationships and overseeing the lifecycle of software contracts. Continuous improvement is a key focus of this role, as the engineer will assess and enhance software asset management processes, leveraging technology to automate and integrate practices into broader IT and business frameworks.
