The LM S&T (Science & Technology) team is seeking an aerostructural engineer - Intern (2026), to help our team of engineers to perform aerothermal, thermal, and CFD analysis in support of hypersonic programs. In this position you will: Analyze, research, and develop metallic and composite structural materials for aerodynamic and full lifecycle environments. Interpret and presents results of analysis to communicate strength capability, durability, and stability. Develop finite element models in coordination with other teams. Support build of test articles, support testing, and provide post-test analysis on developmental hardware. Tools may include ABAQUS, Altair Hypermesh, and software scripting languages.

Requirements

  • Student working towards a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar STEM related program

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with software tools(Java, Tcl, CREO, Solidworks Matlab, Python, Fortran, etc)
