Requirements

• 3 - 10+ years of Core/Wax Die/Mold building experience at a high degree of precision/tolerance.
• 3 - 10+ years of Journeyman mold maker experience required.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent apprenticeship program completed.
• Basic math skills and ability to read mold design prints.
• Experience with common tool room equipment such as knee mills, bed mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses.
• Experience with common measurement tools such as calipers, indicators, and depth mics.
• Good communication skills and effective coordination with peers.
• Strong time management skills and an independent work mindset.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and accuracy.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Planning and building a variety of components for mold tool design with tight tolerance machining.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints while maintaining accuracy of +/- 0.001'.
• Providing input on tooling design towards manufacturing feasibility with engineering staff.
• Aiding and inputting to CNC and EDM staff tasks to meet tooling requirements.
• Analyzing Blue Light Inspection reports with engineering to fulfill tooling requirements.
• Helping direct the build of tooling to meet customer due dates.
• Operating the Wax Press Injection System and troubleshooting injection problems.
• Following common safety procedures and maintaining good housekeeping practices.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
