Aerospace Tig Welder 3rd Shift Working at our Beavercreek Site: GE Aerospace operations have been part of the Beavercreek community for over 70 years! Our Beavercreek facility manufactures gas turbine tubes, ducts, and manifolds, and also has complex machining, fabrication and investment casting capabilities. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. This facility also does repair and overhaul of tubes, ducts, and manifolds. We have been awarded OSHAS’s highest safety rating. Role Overview: Welds together metal components as specified by layout, blueprints, diagrams, or manufacturing operations sheet (MOS), using Tig welding equipment. Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified. Starts power supply to produce electric current. Manually guides torch along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle. Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examines weld for bead size and other specifications. Manually applies filler rod to supply weld metal. Cleans weld joint or workpiece. Prepares rework parts for welding. Positions or clamps workpieces together or assembles them in a jig or fixture. May tack assemblies together. Will use a computer daily (checking email, viewing/downloading shop drawings and instructions)
