The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Technician will support Launch Vehicle Processing of the Artemis Launch Vehicles at Kennedy Space Center. This support will include flight hardware assembly operations, and testing and validations of flight and ground systems. Working in a team environment, candidate will work to detailed instructions and schematics to perform work in all aspects of flight hardware. Technician will be participating in training requirements to obtain all necessary certifications to perform assembly work.

Requirements

  • The candidate must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of related experience (mechanical or electrical) or equivalent technical training.

  • Must be able to follow work instructions, interpret engineer drawing and follow stringent work area rules and safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
  • Must demonstrate moderate level of proficiency in mechanical or electrical technical operations.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to pass SCAPE physical and maintain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to work Weekends and Off-Shifts, if required.
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
