This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required! This is a C Shift, 3x12 position (Fr-Su 05:00-5:30). Must be able to work flexible shifts and overtime as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 3+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field preferred
  • Experience in at least one of the following is required: Fluids and tubing install, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions and test procedures
  • Work collaboratively with teams of skills, disciplines, and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
  • Basic computer skills such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
  • Work at heights on work stands and in lifts.
  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting of items up to 35lbs

  • Industry certification, trade school training and/or degree in related field
  • Demonstrated success as a “hands-on” technical leader

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture, assemble, and test the GS1 Booster according to written procedures and engineering models, drawings, specifications
  • Setup new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
  • Assist with transition from development to production, including first articles
  • Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections to engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Operate various material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations and other ground support equipment as required
  • Setup and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools including, but not limited to, torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser tracker, height gauges and optical measuring instruments
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance functions such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD
  • Ability to work off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission and vision
