About The Position

Under the supervision of the department manager, the Aerospace Sealer performs sealing operations to meet customer specifications for quality parts. This role requires performing inject sealing and one of two other sealing operations (aero or fillet sealing). The individual must promote and utilize standard safety practices.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate machine problems, quality issues and other concerns or questions to departmental management.
  • Must be quality conscious.
  • Ability to interpret specs and/or engineering.
  • Moderate time management skills.
  • Maintain a professional work atmosphere by being courteous, respectful and non-interfering with customers, co-workers, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Clean surfaces of work pieces in preparation for assembly sealing, using cleaning fluids, solvents, brushes, scrapers, sandpaper, or cloth.
  • Make injection nozzle with tape and sealer tip.
  • Inject sealer using applicator gun.
  • Wipe work pieces to remove excess.
  • Examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Independently complete tasks for injection sealing and aero or fillet sealing.
  • Rework blemishes in work pieces, such as nicks and dents.
  • Assist with material handling.
  • Apply sealer using applicator gun (for fillet and aero sealing).
  • Smooth sealer using fairing tool i.e. plastic or brass spoon (for fillet sealing).
  • Tape around windows to prep for sealing process (for aero sealing).
  • Smooth sealer with solvent (for aero sealing).
