About The Position

Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite broadband network, aiming to deliver fast, reliable internet globally. This broad-scoped position involves manufacturing engineering ownership of multiple mechanisms and assemblies for the Project Kuiper satellite program. The role supports new satellite mechanisms early in the production phase, providing critical design for manufacturability input, supporting testing of assemblies, and developing plans to transition from design/test to build/production. The role requires a thorough understanding of fabrication processes, system design, and mechanical system assembly and test processes. Responsibilities include owning test campaigns to validate manufacturing processes for robustness, yield, and reliability, and transitioning into a production environment to produce assemblies at the lowest possible cost and highest quality. This involves root-causing problems to maintain build schedules and implementing efficiency gains through tooling, automation, or design and process changes. It is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, working with leaders in multiple technology areas, requiring high standards for product performance, quality, and cost.
