About The Position

This position is for an Aerospace Maintenance Technician- Licensed Electrician located at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Florida. Member of the Launch Operations team responsible for checkout, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, calibration, troubleshooting and operation of mission critical production, ground support, and facility structural-mechanical, electro-mechanical, electrical/power, fluid control/management, and facility or launch vehicle environmental control/HVAC systems throughout the lifecycle of these systems.

Requirements

  • High School/GED
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • State/County Electrical License (Journeyman, Contractor, or Master)
  • Industrial and commercial knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Electrical Switchgear, Motor Control Centers, and Transformers.
  • Ability to utilize basic knowledge of National Electrical Code updates and compliances, along with NFPA70E Standard of electrical safety.
  • Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50lbs on a frequent basis.
  • Capable of climbing and working at unprotected heights.
  • Must be willing to work 1st shift, but capable and willing to work overtime and/or 2nd and 3rd shift work schedule as needed.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must have a current valid driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain active DoD TS/SCI is required.
  • US citizenship is required.

  • NFPA 70E electrical safety in the workplace certificate of attendance

Responsibilities

  • Utilize general knowledge of electrical codes, regulations and safety procedures.
  • Utilize general knowledge that demonstrates increased skill level in the electrical field to include preventive maintenance on equipment and troubleshoot problems.
  • Use blueprints or design specifications to install or repair electrical systems.
  • Maintain, install and repair electrical primary power distribution systems.
  • Perform primary and secondary tests on electrical breakers during routine maintenance.
  • Replace, update and retrofit breakers as required.
  • Assist other trades as needed.
  • Will be lifting and carrying up to 50lbs.
  • Uses hand and power tools to maintain and repair Launch Vehicle Processing and support systems.
  • May receive specialized equipment training as required to maintain critical facilities.
  • Requires travel to other ULA locations.
