About The Position

For more than 15 years, our manufacturing facility in Grand Rapids has helped the growth and success of GE Aerospace. We're producing high quality electronics and avionics parts and equipment to exacting standards. These include Avionics Computing Systems, Mission Systems, Navigation and Guidance and Vehicle Health and Data Management products. Requirements

  • Must have completed HS Diploma/GED from an accredited school.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the assembly of small intricate parts and assemblies.
  • Minimum 1 year of soldering experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate soldering proficiency through skills test.
  • Must be able to pass IPC 610 & J-STD certifications after training.
  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.
  • This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Electric Static Discharge precautions.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and PDF Viewers.
  • Motivated and a self-starter.

Responsibilities

  • Able to read and understand technical documentation such as schematic diagrams and parts lists.
  • Experience using hand tools for electronic assemble.
  • Must demonstrate the manual dexterity required to perform repetitive assembly operations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
  • Must be able to work under microscopes for long periods of time (requires good visual acuity, with or without correction).
  • Must be able to work under minimum supervision.
  • Must possess basic computer skills within a Windows environment.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610 & J-STD soldering specifications.
  • Must be able to show proficiency in the use of a soldering iron to perform certified soldering.
