About The Position

The Aerospace Industrial Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing systems and processes to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality within aerospace manufacturing and operations. This role involves the application of engineering principles and techniques to solve complex problems, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and ensure high standards of safety and performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an industrial engineering role within the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and equipment used in aerospace production.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as CAD, CAM, and simulation software.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and quality standards in the aerospace industry (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt) or similar process improvement certifications.
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES).
  • Familiarity with digital manufacturing, automation, and Industry 4.0 technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, and improve aerospace manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure quality.
  • Develop and implement process improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard work procedures and improve workflow.
  • Optimize the layout of facilities, workspaces, and equipment to create efficient production environments.
  • Utilize data analysis and statistical tools to identify bottlenecks, waste, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, quality, and supply chain, to coordinate and implement engineering projects.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes, standards, and procedures.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate manufacturing technologies, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff to ensure effective implementation of process improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts to address production issues and improve product reliability.
