About The Position

The Senior Aerospace Engineer at DCS Corp will focus on Manufacturing, Structural, and Civil Engineering Quality Assurance Engineering for the USAF or FMS. The role involves developing and assessing defect prevention strategies and processes for the development, production, and deployment of hardware and support facilities. The engineer will perform QA analyses to ensure that hardware systems and support facilities acquired by AFLCMC can be produced by controlled manufacturing processes at manageable risk to cost, schedule, or user satisfaction. Additionally, the engineer will conduct special studies and analyze broad QA issues common to all AFLCMC acquisition programs, including discrete investigations of particular issues using various methods and tools such as process variability reduction, statistical process/quality control, defect prevention, metrology, nondestructive evaluation, and automated inspection.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • A Bachelor's Degree plus 12 years of experience or a Master's Degree plus 10 years of experience is required.
  • Current Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and assess defect prevention strategies and processes for hardware and support facilities.
  • Perform QA analyses to ensure hardware systems can be produced by controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct special studies and analyze broad QA issues for AFLCMC acquisition programs.
  • Review and assess weapon system applicant QA planning and progress.
  • Evaluate the quality system of weapon system prime contractors/subcontractors.
  • Analyze contractor strategies, plans, and activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Assist in identifying and analyzing major cost/risk trade-offs and life-cycle cost considerations.
  • Support quality audits, including hardware audits.
  • Assist in hardware quality evaluations through disassembly, inspection, and testing.
  • Prepare descriptions of broad quality strategies for defect prevention.
  • Determine appropriate program QA requirements and prepare task descriptions for contracts.
  • Provide QA inputs to initial test planning for hardware.
  • Administer and evaluate the ISO and AS9100 based conversion installation QA plan.
