BAE Systems is seeking an Aerospace Engineer to join its organization. As an Aerospace Engineer in our Rocket Development team, you will design, analyze, build, and test rocket motors for aerospace and defense applications. You will lead development programs and support other programs with design and analysis. Your responsibilities will include sizing motors, grains, and nozzles, developing estimates of rocket motor performance, and designing mechanical motor components, including motor cases, propellant grain, and nozzles. You will also select and implement equipment for motor and component testing, predict motor performance using computer simulations, and perform design optimization analyses. Additionally, you will use internally developed and commercially available codes to perform computer-aided analyses, perform computational fluid dynamics on internal motor flows and external plumes, and conduct thermal analysis on composite insulators and motor structural components. You will perform finite element structural analysis on composite and metal components, assess design and test risks using quantitative risk assessment methods, and present technical work products to peers, senior leadership, and external customers.
