Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in defining, designing, developing, integrating, testing, or operating components for space propulsion systems.
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and scheduling technical activities and presenting results to stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with liquid propulsion systems and associated fluid and thermal systems.
  • Familiarity with NASA's engineering processes and standards.
  • Knowledge of risk management processes in aerospace projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and integrate Gateway chemical propulsion team activities including partner oversight and product review.
  • Provide input on budget and staffing requirements for respective systems areas.
  • Ensure requirements analysis and performance analysis of the end-to-end system are performed.
  • Elevate dissenting opinions to the Chief Engineer and assist in issue resolution.
  • Identify and assess systems risks and mitigation plans.
  • Review test plans, test reports, and verification closure rationale for acceptability.
  • Develop and refine a multi-party integrated refueling operation plan.
  • Support launch and in-space operation of chemical propulsion systems.
