Join a precision manufacturing team in the Downers Grove area where your eye for detail keeps flight-critical parts within spec. As a Line Inspector, you’ll move between machines and inspection benches, validating that precision machined components meet demanding customer and industry standards from first part to final release. What a typical day looks like You start by reviewing engineering drawings, inspection plans, and process sheets, noting key GD&T callouts. With micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators in hand, you perform in-process checks, confirming dimensions and surface finishes against specifications. You record results and any nonconformances using established quality procedures, then partner with operators and supervisors in real time to address discrepancies before they become rework. As parts near completion, you handle final inspection, confirm traceability and documentation are complete, assist with tool calibration records, and ensure a clean, organized inspection area.
