Aerospace Dimensional Metrology Programmer (PC-DMIS/Calypso)
About The Position
TekPro has partnered with a premier aerospace machine shop to hire a CMM expert for a direct-hire role. In this high-accuracy environment, you will own the dimensional verification that keeps complex parts within microns—where quality compliance, tight tolerances, and technical leadership are the norm. A day in the life You start by reviewing work orders and interpreting detailed blueprints with GD&T callouts. You create and refine CMM programs in PC-DMIS or Zeiss Calypso, run first article inspections, and validate production parts to aerospace requirements. Throughout the day, you collaborate with engineering and production, troubleshoot measurement discrepancies, and document results that stand up to audit-level scrutiny.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience
- Proficiency with PC-DMIS and/or Zeiss Calypso
- Background in aerospace or similarly regulated manufacturing
- Expert knowledge of GD&T and inspection best practices
- Self-directed working style with the ability to manage multiple part numbers
Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and optimize CMM programs in PC-DMIS or Zeiss Calypso
- Interpret complex blueprints and GD&T to plan inspection strategies
- Execute first article inspections and support in-process/production checks
- Validate full dimensional layouts for tight-tolerance aerospace components
- Diagnose inspection issues and resolve measurement discrepancies
- Partner with engineering and production to uphold stringent quality standards
