About The Position

PPG's Aerospace Business is looking for an Application Sales Engineer to join our Engineered Materials team. As an Application Sales Engineer you will provide technical expertise, supporting customers with application solutions, and driving sales initiatives. Ideally, you will bridge the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring customer satisfaction and business growth. This is a hybrid role working out of our Wallingford, CT office 3 days per week and from home 2 days per week. You will report to the Emerging Technologies Director. Requirements

  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  • 3+ years of applications engineering or technical sales.
  • Strong understanding of industrial products and solutions.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering tools.
  • Proficient in handling ERP systems and routing transactions.
  • Previous experience with CRM tools.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Aerospace a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with customers to understand technical requirements and propose suitable solutions.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support.
  • Develop and deliver product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Help prepare proposals, quotations, and technical documentation.
  • Work with the sales team to identify new business opportunities.
  • Work with the sales team to identify the VOC collaborate with R&D to develop new processes and innovative product offerings.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, customers service and customers to support samples, trials and trouble shooting products.
