The Anodize Operator position is a trainee role within the Anodize department at Hytek production, located in Kent, WA. Employees will use various methods to process parts in preparation for plating and other coatings, adhering to Military and OEM specifications. The position requires participation in the FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program, which includes an initial drug test and quarterly testing. The work schedule is for the 2nd shift, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

  • Work closely with experienced Anodize Operator to complete work and prioritize tasks for On-Time delivery.
  • Follow technique card, customer Purchase Orders and drawings, and instructions from experienced Anodize Operators to prepare and process parts.
  • Prepare parts prior to operations including racking; use proper tooling and fixtures, when applicable.
  • Legibly sign off on work once completed and Operator Self Verification inspection has occurred.
  • General review of paperwork and Operator Self Verification inspection of job to ensure all previous operations were completed.
  • Notify supervisor and Quality Assurance if any errors.
  • Knowledge of pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.
  • Familiar with Quality Assurance requirements & rework procedures.
  • Be familiar with engineering drawing notations.
  • Be familiar with the safety precautions & know how to avoid injury to personnel.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities to drive positive change in productivity, delivery, and service.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to join the FAA Repair Station program, including the FAA Drug & Alcohol random selection pool.
  • Required to participate in annual Hearing Conservation testing.
  • Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE based upon requirements in working area.
  • Demonstrated ability to train and positively influence others.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work both independently, as a team, and with customers (both internally and externally).
  • Excellent accuracy with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
  • Ability to learn and use Lean Tools and techniques to solve tactical and strategic problems and issues arising in this position.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively.
  • Must have a regular and dependable attendance record.
  • Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with Customers and auditors.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • 1-2 years in manufacturing environment a plus.
