Are you passionate about collaborating with a team of builders who own and operate a service that connects satellites to the cloud? A Software Development Engineer with AWS Ground Station supports the development and delivery of key features as we innovate for our customers. On our team you will use your expertise to work on a disruptive services that are still in early stages, solve challenging problems that will revolutionize satellite connectivity in the cloud, work for a recognized leader in supporting space customers with cloud computing, and have direct impact on hundreds, possibly thousands, of users of AWS Aerospace solutions. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen.

  • Own the design of major deliverables and have opportunities to build them from scratch.
  • Interact with other developers to build and improve the service.
  • Prioritize activities to support product development, solve problems and blockers.
  • Focus on actions that are most impactful for program success.
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 3 years experience with modern C++ or Rust in systems or embedded contexts.
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Experience developing hardware-accelerated, realtime data processing software (SIMD, GPU, FPGA) in areas such as packet inspection, transcoding, software-defined radio, or reliable data delivery.
  • Experience with satellite communications and/or ground station operations.
  • Digital signal processing (DSP) experience in RF or other analog domains.
