Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in telecommunications construction.
  • Knowledge of the telecom construction industry including Coax Splicing, Fiber Splicing, Directional Drilling, Aerial and Underground Construction.
  • Comfortable working in a bucket truck and climbing poles.
  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely.
  • Strong knowledge of CATV building practices and CTV/Aerial field equipment.
  • OSHA 10 training, CPR, and Flagging certification.
  • Ability to operate a digger Derek truck.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work and climb up to 35 feet.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and CTV cable prints.
  • Ability to work on call including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Comfortable working under pressure and in a fast-paced and quickly changing environment.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects.
  • Install and/or repair aerial CATV, coaxial and fiber cable.
  • Place, relocate and remove poles, lines, open-wire, drop and block wire to maintain efficient operation of the customers' facilities.
  • Set up a safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and installation instructions to ensure the project is built according to the approved design specifications.
  • Direct the activities on the job site.
  • Properly fill out necessary documentation, record time for the crew, etc.
  • Communicate with the Area Supervisor or Manager.
  • Act as the lead for in-house crews.
  • Oversee daily schedules, delivery schedules, and daily productivity of the Aerial crew.
