The company is seeking an Aerial Lineman with a strong background in telecommunications construction, specializing in fiber optic and coaxial cable placement, to join their team in Aurora, CO. This position involves supporting new build and existing aerial plant, including pole transfers, delash/relash, wreck-out, and relocation projects. Candidates must be safety-focused, self-motivated, and knowledgeable in NESC telecommunications standards. Employees will report daily to the Aurora office, with travel required as needed to support projects outside the local area.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience working in and troubleshooting aerial fiber optic installation and/or telecommunications construction required
  • Proven experience as an Aerial Lineman in the telecommunications industry
  • Strong hands-on experience with fiber optic and coax placement
  • Demonstrated experience with pole transfers, delash/relash, wreck-out, and relocation work
  • Familiarity with NESC requirements for telecommunications construction, including grounding, bonding, spacing, etc.
  • Ability to identify the potential of foreign voltage
  • Ability to work from bucket trucks, extension ladders, and by gaffing/climbing
  • Comfortable working at heights and in all weather conditions
  • Ability to work during day or night shifts and participate in mandatory on-call rotation
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a crew
  • Physically capable of performing demanding aerial construction tasks
  • A body weight of no more than 275 pounds to perform ladder work safely. Safety is our #1 Priority. If personal safety is not compromised, an accommodation may be available based on previous ladder experience in a similar role
  • Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification; a driver’s license is required if the role involves driving
  • Passing of all pre-employment requirements (MVR, Background Check, Drug Screen)

Nice To Haves

  • Bucket truck and aerial lift experience

  • Class A CDL a plus

Responsibilities

  • Install, lash, tension, and transfer strand, fiber optic, and coaxial cables on aerial utility poles
  • Perform pole transfers involving existing and new telecommunications facilities
  • Complete delash/relash operations, including overbuilds, system upgrades, and in joint-use environments
  • Execute wreck-out and relocation work per engineering and customer requirements
  • Access aerial plant using bucket trucks, extension ladders, and gaffing/climbing methods
  • Maintain proper sag, tension, clearances, and attachments in compliance with NESC and engineering specifications
  • Work safely around energized power (maintaining Minimum Approach Distances), existing communications, and active plant
  • Read and interpret construction prints, make-ready drawings, and work orders
  • Operate and maintain lashers, pullers, bucket trucks, and associated aerial line equipment and tools
  • Perform work in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain
  • Perform day and night work as required by customer schedules and city/state permitting requirements
  • Participate in a mandatory on-call rotation for emergency restoration and call-outs
  • Identify, report, and correct unsafe conditions or plant issues in the field
  • Report daily to the company office assigned; travel may be required to support out-of-area or special projects
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, NESC, and company safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
